My main interest is in the radiative interaction between the snow surface and the atmosphere. I study the effect of snow microstructure on surface albedo and snow thermal conductivity, but also the impact of clouds on the snow surface radiation budget and on the near-surface temperature.
- I developed a method to account for the effect of surface albedo heterogeneity on the cloud short wave radiative forcing at the surface.
- I developed a method to process and analyze macro-photos of snow crystals, in order to obtain the optically equivalent grain size distribution.
- I develop instruments for snow microstructure and snow albedo field measurements.
