General Information

Stability and Variations of Arctic Land Ice (NCoE - SVALI) is a Nordic Centre of Excellence (NCoE), which is based on multidisciplinary and cross-national science collaboration (18 research institutions from all the Nordic countries).

SVALI is a part of the Top-level Research Initiative (TRI), which is a major Nordic collaborative venture for studies of climate, energy and the environment. The NCoE SVALI is together with NCoE DEFROST and NCoE CRAICC within the TRI sub-programme "Interaction between Climate Change and the Cryosphere" (ICCC). Integration of observations, process studies and modelling are the backbone of the centre aiming at improving our understanding of stability, variations and dynamics of the cryosphere.
